Cookie Policy

This page lists everything this website stores on your device and everything it loads from another company. We keep it accurate by checking it against the site itself, not from a template. If we change what the site does, this page changes with it.

Analytics and advertising (only if you say yes)

When you first visit, a notice asks whether you're happy for us to use cookies. If you click Accept, we load Google Analytics (Google), which counts visits and shows us which pages people use and how they found us. These set their own cookies and receive information such as the pages you visit, your browser and your approximate location. If you click Decline, none of them load at all.

Changing your mind

Use "Cookie settings" at the bottom of any page to see the choice again. Declining after accepting stops these from loading on future pages; to remove cookies already set, clear them in your browser.

What we store to remember your choice

We save your Accept or Decline on your device so we don't ask on every page. If you accept, we also save how you first arrived (for example, which ad or link you clicked) so the farm can tell which adverts bring people in. This stays on your device; it isn't a cookie and isn't sent anywhere by us.

Signing up for emails

If you give us your email address in the sign-up box, it goes to Mailchimp, the service we use to send our emails, and you'll get a message asking you to confirm. That's the only reason we ask for it. The sign-up box itself sets no cookies.

Cookies we set when you sign in

Our staff sign-in area at /admin sets a session cookie so the person stays signed in. It is essential, it is only set after someone signs in, and it never applies to ordinary visitors.

Other companies whose content appears here

The map on Plan Your Visit is a Google Maps embed. When that map loads, Google may set cookies and see your IP address. That is Google's doing, under Google's privacy policy, and it only happens on pages showing a map. Links to Peek (our ticketing), our photographer's site, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok are ordinary links: nothing from those companies loads until you click through.

Buying tickets

Tickets are sold by Peek, on Peek's own platform. Once you are there, Peek's cookies and Peek's privacy policy apply to the booking. We do not see or store your payment details at any point.

Turning cookies off

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Nothing you need on this site depends on them, though the map may not load.
